"My father has been a resident at Mendip Lodge for a year. The care provided has been excellent throughout that time. The staff were committed, helpful, open and understanding. They treated my father with great respect and dignity and despite his dementia were able to create an enjoyable atmosphere for him. They were able to provide the care he needed as his dementia progressed. Our family were also treated in a most friendly and helpful way and encouraged to understand his illness. Family could visit at any time which helped to provide an environment of trust. Dad was helped and encouraged and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The management too was very helpful, professional and caring. Overall the care he received was excellent and I have great admiration for the work carried out by all of the staff."

My Aunt has been at Mendip Lodge for 2 and a half years, which is close to her friends. She has a lovely room overlooking the garden, which is well kept. The staff are always welcoming when I visit and keep me informed as to how my Aunt has been since my last visit. All staff including the cleaner, chef and handyman are always pleasant and often chat with the residents and their families. This does give a homely atmosphere. Should I have any queries the manager is always readily available. The staff cope well with the different problems both with my Aunt and other residents. My Aunt enjoys the trips taken by the minibus and the entertainment provided especially the local school. The home cooked food is excellent as my sister informs me when she stays for lunch. Tea and homemade cakes are offered in the afternoon to everyone. I feel my Aunt copes far better in this small friendly home than a larger home where she would feel lost."

My father has been at Mendip Lodge now for almost 3 years. I am extremely happy with all aspects of his care. We always can be assured of a warm welcome and a lovely smile by the staff who make you feel at home. The staff are helpful, caring and it is evident that they have the training and knowledge to deal with each situation as it arises. My father has several medical and mental health issues and I am confident that the staff are well equipped to manage his needs. The home itself has a lovely, homely and relaxed atmosphere, the meals are of a high standard and residents are always given choices. My dad loved the monthly trips, visiting areas of interest in and around Bristol and North Somerset. The manager is always happy to answer any queries and displays genuine care for the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone looking for a residential home for their loved one.
